I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Political Science at Koç University. I received my PhD in Political Science from the Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY), in September 2026.
My research lies at the intersection of opposition-party strategies and characteristics, subnational politics, and electoral turnover under competitive authoritarianism. I combine statistical analysis with comparative case studies, drawing primarily on evidence from Turkey and Mexico, as well as from Latin America more broadly. My original dataset, Subnational Elections in Competitive Authoritarian Regimes, covers elections held since 1990 and is currently being expanded with additional variables. My research has appeared in Democratization, and I am preparing several additional manuscripts for publication.
I have taught Introduction to American Politics, Introduction to Comparative Politics, and Middle East Politics at Baruch College and Hunter College, CUNY.
